Jessup Improvement Association (JIA) is dedicated to improving quality of life in greater Jessup. The Association also acts as a liaison to our state and local officials and the surrounding community associations. The Association’s concerns cover a wide variety of issues including land use, zoning, traffic, schools, public facilities, recreation and youth programs and activities. All eligible persons are encouraged to join and provide input and ideas.
The meetings conducted by the JIA are held in the Jessup Community Hall located at the corner of Route 175 and Wigley Avenue. Membership is open to any resident or property owner over 18 years of age in the area bounded by Dorsey Road (Maryland Route 176) to the north, Ridge Road (Maryland Route 713) to the east (not including Fort Meade), MD Route 32 to the south and US Route 1 to the west. This includes Anne Arundel and Howard Counties and the smaller communities of Hanover, Dorsey, Montevideo, Champion Forest, Georgetown, Dorchester, McCarron Estates, Holiday Mobile Estates, Ridgewood Estates and Ridgefield. Membership is also open to the families of any student attending Jessup Elementary School.
